Golden Heart Community Foundation

GHCF’s History, Vision, and Focus

Located in the center of Alaska, Fairbanks is Alaska’s second largest community. The Fairbanks North Star Borough consists of 7,361 square miles with just under 100,000 residents. Fairbanks is a place of contrasts: light and dark, snow and sun, cold and warm. The people who live here are likewise eclectic. Whether an indigenous resident, a “sourdough” who has weathered many seasons, or a “cheechako” newly arrived in the Far North, Fairbanks provides a vibrant, energetic and warm welcome to all. Our moniker as the “Golden Heart” of Alaska describes both our central location and our community’s generosity of spirit.

The Golden Heart Community Foundation is a permanent fund for the Fairbanks and North Pole areas, and surrounding regions. Your gifts will be part of a long-term endowment, allowing you to invest in our community’s future and contribute to our quality of life. These charitable contributions will connect donors with causes they care about and catalyze community planning between individuals, organizations and governments.

Focus: To provide a vehicle in which the people in the Fairbanks, North Pole, and surrounding regions can support the organizations and causes that they care for most. By encouraging our families, friends, and community members to support the Golden Heart Community Foundation, we are helping to keep our resources invested locally in a permanent fund that will help sustain our future and those for generations to come. The Golden Heart Community Foundation strives to build a lasting endowment with community donations to support causes that Interior Alaskans care about.

Vision: Preserving prosperity and creating the best quality of life for the people of Fairbanks, North Pole, and our surrounding communities.
