Grantees of the GHCF 2020 Award Program Due to COVID, our 2020 grantees received their checks in the mail. We recreated the check hand-offs in the Spring when it was safe to do so!

 

The following Fairbanks area organizations were awarded grants from the Golden Heart Community Foundation in 2020.


The Salvation Army

Mission: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

The Folk School

Mission: Our mission is to perpetuate the joy of hands-on learning.

The Bread Line

Mission: The Bread Line is an inclusive and accessible anti-hunger organization that has been serving Fairbanks since 1984. Our mission is to feed people and affirm lives in our community.

North Star Imagination Library

Mission: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland.

No Limits, Inc

Mission: To provide resettlement services to the marginalized and disadvantaged for successful transition from dependence on society to independence with the support and resources they need to transform their lives.

Mission: We provide education, support, advocacy, and public awareness so that all individuals affected by mental illness can build better lives.

Midnight Sun Council, Boy Scouts of America

Mission: It is the mission of the Midnight Sun Council, Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and, in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime in achieving their full potential.

Friends of Creamer’s Field

Mission: To inspire environmental stewardship and lifelong learning through experience, awareness, appreciation and conservation of the natural and historic resources of Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge.

Fairbanks Symphony Association

Mission: The Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to promoting the musical arts in Fairbanks and throughout Alaska by performing symphonic music of the highest caliber and by offering educational programs for individuals of all ages designed to train new musicians, cultivate musical knowledge and foster individual development and music appreciation.

Fairbanks Community Food Bank

Mission: The primary purpose of the Fairbanks Community Food BankService, Inc. is to provide food for hungry people and to distribute surplus food that would ordinarily be discarded. All locally collected food is to be distributed without charge.
