Golden Heart Community Foundation’s 5th Anniversary Celebration Celebrating Our Collective Success

On November 15, Golden Heart Community Foundation celebrated five years of growth and giving. Bettisworth North Architects and Planners opened their design space for a lovely evening where donors and grantees met and shared stories of inspiration, success, and future endeavors. Our speakers offered tales and stories that created a vision for growing our endowment that will have lasting impacts on our community. One special speaker, Bonnie Blaydes, regaled her history of struggle and redemption. Bonnie graduated from Stone’s Throw Culinary Arts Program, a program through Bread Line Inc. where culinary and valuable life skills are taught to their students. This program funded by Golden Heart Community Foundation helped Bonnie overcome adversity and now she not only has a stable job, but she is also on the Board of Directors for Bread Line Inc.

This evening was also a celebration of a milestone for GHCF.  In the spring, our grantmaking endowment surpassed $500,000 with the help of The Alaska Community Foundation, Rasmuson Foundation, and our generous business and individual community donors.

Thank you for the generous support and continued inspiration as we look to the future and remain committed to our wonderful community in the Golden Heart of Alaska!
